La verdad sobre RR. HH. hoy: desmontando estereotipos de RR. HH. 9
FEB 10, 2026
HR has a reputation problem. Here are nine of the most persistent stereotypes and the truth behind each one.
Estereotipo 1: RR. HH. solo protege a la empresa
The most damaging stereotype is that HR exists solely to protect the organisation from employees, not to support them. In reality, effective HR operates in the interests of both. When HR investigates a grievance fairly, it protects the employee who raised it as well as the company. When HR pushes back on an unjust redundancy decision, it is acting as an employee advocate. The two interests are not in conflict: organisations that treat employees fairly face fewer legal claims, lower turnover, and stronger employer brands.
Stereotype 2: HR is anti-business
HR is sometimes seen as a brake on business decisions, introducing process and policy where speed is needed. The opposite is true. HR exists to make the business more effective by ensuring it has the right people, in the right roles, working in a way that is sustainable and legal. Strategic HR professionals proactively shape people decisions to accelerate business outcomes, not slow them down.
Estereotipo 3: RR. HH. se trata solo de administración
The stereotype of HR as a paperwork-processing department is a legacy of a previous era. Modern HR teams use technology to automate routine administration, freeing HR professionals to focus on strategic work: talent strategy, organisational design, culture, and workforce analytics. An HRIS automates onboarding, leave tracking, payroll inputs, and compliance reporting, turning what was once weeks of manual work into hours.
Estereotipo 4: RR.
