Why the right reports matter
An HRIS can produce hundreds of reports, but most HR teams rely on a core set of five to ten that answer the questions that come up most frequently from managers and senior leadership. Knowing which reports matter, and how to interpret them in context, is one of the most practical skills an HR professional can develop. The reports below are consistently ranked as most valuable by HR teams of 50 to 500 employees.
Reports 1-3: workforce composition and movement

The engagement trend report overlays pulse survey scores with turnover and absence data for each business unit: this cross-referencing is where the most powerful insights emerge and where HR can demonstrate a clear link between people investment and business outcomes.
