MAY 30, 2026
Iniziate dai vostri dati
Before implementing any improvement, review your current recruitment metrics: time-to-hire by role type, offer acceptance rate, 90-day retention of new hires, source of hire, and candidate satisfaction scores if you collect them. The data will tell you where the biggest problems are. A high dropout rate at the application stage suggests a friction-heavy application process or poor job description. A low offer acceptance rate suggests your compensation benchmarking is behind the market. Fix the biggest lever first.
Ideas 1-5: before you advertise
Write a candidate profile before drafting the job description (see our separate guide). Audit the job description for unnecessary requirements: remove degree requirements where experience is a valid substitute, eliminate gender-coded language, and cap the essential criteria list at six. Include the salary range: research from LinkedIn shows applications increase by 30% when salary is disclosed. Review your careers page: ensure it reflects current culture, includes real employee voices, and loads quickly on mobile. Set a target time-to-hire and work backwards from it to plan the recruitment timeline.
Ideas 11-15: after the offer
Send a personalised welcome message from the hiring manager within 24 hours of offer acceptance. Begin pre-boarding immediately: system access, equipment, and team introductions should not wait until day one. Survey every candidate, whether successful or not, on their experience with a three-question feedback form. Run a 30-day new-hire survey to assess whether the onboarding experience matched expectations set in recruitment. Review your recruitment metrics quarterly and set improvement targets for the next cycle.
