Concept spécifiques aux États‑Unis - voir la note locale ci-dessous pour l’équivalent irlandais/ britannique.
Form W-4 is a United States federal tax form that employees complete to tell their employer how much federal income tax to withhold from their pay. The information — such as filing status and dependents — determines the amount deducted each pay period.
It is a purely US concept and has no direct equivalent for Irish, UK or European employers. It is included here to help multinational teams understand terminology they may encounter in US-headquartered systems and policies.
The nearest functional counterpart in Ireland is the Revenue Payroll Notification used under PAYE, which tells the employer the tax credits and rate bands to apply; the UK uses tax codes issued by HMRC for the same purpose.
