Wellbeing Programme
A coordinated set of initiatives supporting employees' physical, mental and financial health.
A wellbeing programme is a structured, coordinated set of initiatives through which an employer supports the physical, mental, social and financial health of its people. It brings together what might otherwise be scattered perks into a coherent, intentional offer.
Typical elements include an employee assistance programme, mental health support, health screening or insurance, financial education, flexible working and activities that build connection. The strongest programmes also tackle root causes such as workload and management quality.
To be credible, a wellbeing programme should be shaped by what employees actually need, measured through indicators such as absence and engagement, and visibly supported by leaders. In Ireland and the EU it complements statutory duties on health, safety, working time and the right to disconnect.
