Beceri Temelli Bir Kuruluş İnşa Etmek: Zor Yoldan Öğrendiklerim
JUN 9, 2026
Moving from job-title-based to skills-based talent management sounds straightforward in theory. In practice, it is one of the most complex transformations in HR. Here is what one CPO discovered.
The technical challenge of building a skills taxonomy, mapping it to roles, and assessing employees against it is significant. But the harder challenge is cultural. Employees who have built their professional identity around a job title resist being described primarily by a list of skills. Managers who think in terms of headcount by role struggle to think in terms of capabilities and adjacencies. The transition requires a sustained communication and engagement effort that most organisations underestimate by a factor of three.
Farklı yapacağımız şeyler
We would start smaller and prove value faster. Rather than trying to build a comprehensive skills taxonomy for the whole organisation upfront, we would pilot in one function where the business case was clearest (in our case, technology) and demonstrate impact before scaling. We would also invest earlier in manager capability: skills-based talent decisions require managers who can have honest conversations about capability gaps and development needs, which is a level of coaching skill that most have not been trained for.
